Cinnamon Dough Ornaments

These super-simple ornaments are made from a dough with TWO ingredients. And they smell faaaaaaabulous daaaaahhhhling! Make a few for yourself and a few to give as gifts!

Ready to make them? Ok here are the ingredients:

1 part cinnamon
1 part applesauce
*Optional: a bit of nutmeg and/or cloves for extra-yummy smell

Instructions:

I used one cup cinnamon and one cup applesauce. If the dough is too moist, add more cinnamon, if it's too dry, add more applesauce. Then roll it 1/4" thick. I found it easiest to sprinkle cinnamon on my counters and on top of the dough, the same way I would sprinkle flour on dough before kneading, in order to minimize sticking.

Cut it with cookie cutters, then use a straw or skinny paintbrush handle to make a hole for hanging. Bake in the oven for about an hour at 200 degrees.

This recipe is easy to make as big or small of a batch as you like. They're great to add on with gift tags on Christmas presents, and for the kids to make and give themselves. Who wouldn't want a yummy-smelling gingerbread man???
